Sustainable energy helps make clean energy, like wind and solar.

How should we heat our homes?

Renewable energy is energy that comes from natural things that won’t run out, like the sun, wind, and water. We use the sun’s light to make electricity, the wind to turn big fans called turbines, and flowing water to create power. This kind of energy is clean and good for the Earth because it doesn’t make bad smoke or waste.
 
We have developed alternative ways of heating our homes with solutions like air source heat pumps that use renewable thermal energy from the air. Low carbon energy solutions like nuclear energy are also important in our journey towards reducing our emissions and achieving net zero.

Hinkley Point C’s reliable low-carbon electricity will help Britain achieve Net Zero and protect the environment from the threat of climate change. It is an essential part of a mix with wind and solar that will allow Britain to electrify its transport, homes and businesses without depending on fossil fuels.
 
EDF supports renewable and low-carbon energy through various initiatives, including the development of wind farms, nuclear and solar energy projects. Additionally, EDF has shown support for solar farms, contributing significantly to the increase in renewable electricity capacity in regions like Sedgemoor.
