Sustainable water management helps preserve water ecosystems and biodiversity, and can help mitigate climate change.
How do we protect our homes from flooding?
Somerset has a diverse landscape with coastlines, hills, moors and wetlands. The county has suffered unprecedented flooding in the past which had a huge impact on residents and their communities and livelihoods. Since then, millions of pounds have been spent on building stronger flood defenses. As our planet warms producing wetter winters and drier summers, areas prone to flooding will be increasingly impacted in the future. So what can we do to make a difference?
